In order to guide the freshmen to better adapt to college life and help them fasten the "first button" in college, recently, the college specially invited Cui Jingui, the Party secretary of the college, Du Daolin, the dean of the college, and Jiang Hao, the deputy Party secretary and secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the college, to give the first ideological and political courses respectively for the freshmen of the 2024 grade. Party branch secretaries of secondary colleges (departments), freshman counselors and all the freshmen listened to the lectures in the lecture hall of the University Student Activity Center.
During the lecturing process, the college leaders, combining their rich life experiences, started from Jiangsu University with a profound historical heritage of over a hundred years and talked about today's Jingjiang College which has achieved fruitful results in cultivating outstanding application-oriented talents. They vividly illustrated that behind every achievement were the arduous and unwavering footprints of struggle, as well as the firm belief and sense of responsibility deeply rooted in people's hearts.
As predecessors and guides, the college leaders sent messages to the freshmen to cherish the time in college and truly make "friends" with books, teachers, classmates and health. They inspired the freshmen to be confident and self-reliant, think independently, be brave in innovation, and strive for progress. In the next four years, they should read thousands of volumes of books, absorb the essence of hundreds of generations, study seriously, be down-to-earth in life, continuously improve their problem-solving abilities, continuously enrich their social practice experiences, ride the wind and waves in the fierce competition of the current era, and show the true demeanor of students of Jingjiang College. They also wished the freshmen could compose the most enterprising, the most splendid and the most memorable four-year college years on the happy land of their alma mater at the southern foot of Changshan Mountain!
