The first speech for new students of Jingjiang College was held at the stadium of Jiangsu University. Professor Yuan Shouqi, headmaster and supervisor of Ph. D. students made a special speech on “Dreams and Success” for new students of our college. Over 2400 new students and instructors attended this speech, which was hosted by Dean Lu Zhengnan.

First, Headmaster Yuan welcomed new students, and introduced teaching success and cultivating quality of talents of Jiangjiang College. Then Headmaster Yuan elaborated the relation between dreams and success from the aspects of setting dreams, strengthening confidence and practising hard. During his speech, Headmaster Yuan asked new students to study hard, prepare ahead, aim to have further education and go abroad. He also encouraged new students to set golas clearly and develop roundly. Headmaster Yuan used the belief of “everyone’s potention is unlimited and every miracle is created” to encourage students who are in their golden times of seeking dreams and learning knowledge to have dreams, grasp chances, work hard and change fates.

A t the end of the speech, new students asked questions to Headmaster Yuan on the topic of “Dreams and Success”. The atmosphere was heated, demostrating the fine qulaity of students born in the 1990s. Students all said that they will cherish the four-year unvisity times to realize their youth pledge with hard sweat!
