In the morning of August 27, Zhenjiang municipal government signed the agreement with our college, deciding to relocate our college to the new campus. Provincial Party Secretary Yang Xingshi attended the ceremony and gave a speech. Party secretary of Jiangsu University, Fan Ming, President Yuan Shouqi, vice president Zhang Jijian and the Dean of Jingjiang College Lu Zhengnan attended the signing ceremony, which was hosted by Mayor Zhu Xiaoming.

Yang Xingshi pointed out that along with the one-year’s implementation of campus construction, work of every branch has been in operation orderly and achieving notable success. We should start from the new beginning, according to the established objectives and requirements, make the task and schedule clear, invert promotion plan, and break through the limitation of capital, land and other key areas to build a stronger university campus and a modern demonstration area in the south of Jiangsu Province.

He also emphasized that since Zhenjiang is one of the cities owns relatively more colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province, and has long been symbiotic with the universities, we should take the relocation as an opportunity to further strengthen the cooperation between universities and land properties, and innovate our mind to cultivate high-quality carrier and promote the interactive development of the city, industry and universities to a higher level, hence universities can be benefit from the city development and the city will be fulfilled with more cultural taste and heritage due to the existence of universities.

Zhu Xiaoming hoped that the leaders, Dantu area and all relevant units could work together to accelerate the construction of the campus to a fully functional and environmental protecting project of top quality. He also hoped that the universities that will be stationed in the new campus area could combine their own development and the modernization of Zhenjiang more closely together to compose a new chapter in the bilateral cooperation between universities and land properties.

Municipal Committee member and Deputy Mayor Zhang Hongshui introduced the progress of construction and signed the agreement with our college on behalf of the municipal government.
