Training objectives:The major fosters qualified undergraduates to be scientists or technicians with a wide range of knowledge in polymer materials science and engineering, who can be engaged in scientific research, technical revolution, design of technology and equipment, and administration of production and management in synthesis modification and processing of polymer materials. After four years’ study, students should know the basic knowledge about polymer materials, the advanced technics of modern polymer production, synthesis process of polymer production, and design or usage of polymer equipments. Students should have capabilities of researching chemical production technics, exploiting new production, designing chemical engineering, and can conduct quality detection, economy analysis, production organization and market management for polymer producing process.
Based on the key subject of materials science at Jiangsu University, the education program is established on the disciplinary platform of materials science. Some selective courses which are concerned to rubber and fiber processes, or to the specialties of metal materials engineering and inorganic nonmetal materials engineering, are provided to broaden students’ knowledge. The capabilities of engineering practice and innovation are emphasized in the education program. The integrative and design experiments are included to form diversified and innovated education mode.
