Training objectives: This major develops senior special compound talents who master the country's economic system the basic principles of economics, international trade, the basic theory and practical skills, possess strong English proficiency, adapt to the “WTO” new situation, and understand the development of contemporary international economic situation. The training helps students be familiar with international trade rules and China's foreign economic and trade practices, and policies and regulations about major countries and regions, understand the social, economic and geographical situation, contemporary science and technology development status and future trends in economy and trade departments and foreign-funded enterprises and engage in real business, management, research and promotion plan, as well as in teaching and research institutions.

Through the study, students possess some humanities and social sciences and basic theory of natural sciences, master basic knowledge and theory of economics, management and international trade and its related professions. Students acquire international trade practice, possess listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation proficiency in foreign languages, have strong computer skills, be familiar with the prevailing rules and practices of international trade and China's foreign economic and trade policies and regulations; understand of the main national and regional socio-economic situation, have strong language and writing skills, interpersonal communication, access to information, knowledge and innovation as well as capabilities of asking questions, analyzing and solving problems, master the literature search, data query of the basic method and have an initial capacity of scientific research and practical work.
