Training Objectives:The speciality aims to train compound advanced engineers and management personnel who engage in risk analysis and safety evaluation, occupational health and safety management and supervision, safety science research and technology development, safety engineering design, safety consulting, and other aspects .
Through study, students can acquire solid foundation of the mathematical, mechanical, chemical, mechanical, electronic and computer theory, as well as the basic specialized knowledge of safety engineering and management. They can also grasp the general principle of modern security and the method which realizes the safety and health of engineering technology and management. Besides, students will possess an ability to research accident mechanism and risk analysis, accident forecast, prevention and control, engagement in safety analysis, evaluation, design, management and supervisory skills as well.
Main courses:Safety Principles, Safety System Engineering, Secure man-machine engineering, Safety Management Engineering, Environmental and Safety Management System (EHS), Industrial Safety Technology, Industrial Health Technology, Fire Protection Engineering, Insurance Study, etc.. When studying at school, students can get Internal Auditors Certificates in ISO14001 (environmental management system) and OSHAS18001 (occupational health and safety management system) through examinations. After their graduation, students will have the test qualification in safety evaluation, safety training and certified safety engineering divisions.
Graduates mainly work in enterprises which deal with chemical, mechanical, electronic, building, shipbuilding industries and safety management work. They can engage in risk assessment in the insurance company and work in the supervision and administration of production safety departments of the government, in safety supervision and administration or in all kinds of security agencies (such as safety evaluation institutions, safety consulting institutions and so on), and do security consultancy and technology service.
